Wings in the Wind
The inspiration for this piece is the migration of the Monarch butterfly. Some populations of Monarchs migrate over 4000 miles from Mexico and the southern US to Canada. This outstanding feat is made even more amazing because four generations of butterflies are involved in the complete cycle. Many of these butterflies passed through our area when we lived in Texas and I remember the sadness we felt when thousands died in a frost in Mexico. There is an interesting documentary on the Monarchs available on Netflix called "Flight of the Butterflies". Delightful viewing. This bronze is especially close to my heart.

...waves dance..
Beautiful vistas and the soothing sounds of surf breaking on the shore draw us to return again and again. How delightful that one can capture the memory of the song of the sea in a sea shell.
While this piece is usually placed indoors, with a custom patina
and plumbing, it can be used as a small fountain for placement
outdoors as well.

And fire can mean so many things. We speak of many emotions as flames burning in our hearts. We refine precious metals with fire. A forest fire both destroys and brings renewal to the forest. On a cold night we huddle up to campfires or a fireplace and watch the flames dance and soar. It doesn't just warm cold hands and feet but it warms our hearts too.
