NOCTURNE

ANDROMEDA
Picture
The Hubble telescope provided us with magnificent views of outer space. There were so many inspiring photos that I decided to do a piece that was a collage of those impressions. Andromeda is a piece with her arms in a spiral position like the Whilpool Galaxy. She has two larger "stars", one in her hand and another at her feet to represent the doubled nucleus of the Andromeda Galaxy. There are many "stars" in her hair and the marbleized patina alludes to the photos of the many nebulae.

This piece is 34", 19" W, 11" D

Light years away, not near, not far.

AURORA OVER THE MOUNTAINS
Do a search online for images of the Aurora and you will be dazzled. The variety of shapes and colors are endless. They have inspired this piece with the aurora personified as a dancer with a colorful chiffon scarf leaping against the backdrop of a silhouetted mountain range.

DARE TO DREAM
Picture

Picture
Picture

What are these things we call dreams?  Is it a vision in the night that comes from deep inside?  Is is a wish?  A goal to reach for? Or is a dream just a disconnected kaleidoscope of  fragmentary thoughts?
These fleeting fragments of thought are expressed on this sculpture by the highlighted texture that spills down the figure of the piece.
An idea born from dreams  can fire useful ideas in reality.  May we always Dare to Dream.
